The Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost – September 1, 2024
THANKS FOR GRACE…
“Show Up” For One Another
Thanks be to God for all who “show up” for one another. We can all “show up” in different ways; making a casserole, sending a card, making a phone call, or walking across the sanctuary to share the peace. Thanks be to God for the many ways of Sharing God’s Grace, Serving Through Love that you do.
Welcome Visitors
If you are a visitor to St. John’s this morning, welcome! Please let us know who you are by signing the fellowship book found on each row of chairs.
In the Narthex, we have a St. John’s coffee mug with information about us that we would love for you to take home. Thanks for worshipping with us today!
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE…
St. Francis Food Trailer
NEXT SUNDAY, September 8
The St. Francis Center Food Pantry trailer is at St. John’s the 2nd Sunday of each month. We encourage you to pick up a few extra groceries every time you shop.
Library Vision Survey
A Library Team has been put together to create a vision for the future of the St. John’s library. We need your help! If you have not already filled out a survey, please fill out a copy that is in the fellowship book.
OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW…
St. John’s Game Night
Friday, September 6, 6:30-8:30 pm
Members of all ages are invited for game night fun and fellowship – youth, families, adults – everyone! We will have party games and board games. You can also bring games. Bring a snack or dessert to share if you like. The schedule is flexible – if you can’t be there at 6:30 or can’t stay until 8:30, that’s okay! Invite friends! (If you don’t drive after dark and want a ride, contact Deacon Katie)
Family Time at St. John’s Playground
Saturday, September 14, 10 am
Note day and time change! All are invited to bring children and grandchildren to St. John’s playground to play, laugh, have fun, and build relationships. Snacks will be provided.

The bus is just over half full!
We will soon be opening spots to a wider audience – reserve a spot now.
St. John’s is organizing a trip to visit civil rights historical sites this fall, and inviting members of other local historically black congregations to join us. All members are invited to consider this educational opportunity. Flyers and an electronic reservation form are now available.
Please reserve a space now by filling out the online form and making a $75 deposit. www.SJBft.org/MontSelma
