The St. John’s Lutheran Beaufort congregation is committed to our community!

We share the Good News of God’s Love with our neighbors by throwing open our doors and hearts to all people – for Sunday worship, Wednesday Nights Together, and other special events! In addition to meeting in person, many worship services are also streamed, so that those who are unable to attend in person can participate in worship.

We support those in need in many ways. St. John’s provides financial support to local helping organizations through our Plan for Mission and through special fundraisers, such as the annual Chili Cookoff. We collect groceries for food pantries at HELP of Beaufort, the Franciscan Center, and Salvation Army; offer home holiday activities for youth at CAPA; provide meals for Family Promise of Beaufort; make hygiene kits for the Good Neighbor Clinic; sew and crochet to provide baby hats, blankets, and stuffed animals to hospitalized children; make quilts for disaster response, and more!

We serve neighbors by hosting and providing gathering space for multiple 12-step groups, music ensembles, and other organizations – including other churches, community service groups, civic groups, and helping agencies. In the summer we host the YMCA’s educational program for the children of farmworkers whose parents are harvesting crops from Beaufort’s fields.

We love being generous with God’s blessings. St. John’s has a reputation: when the community asks, our default is to say “yes!”
